A Simple, Transition Metal Catalyst‐Free Method for the Design of Complex Organic Building Blocks Used to Construct Porous Metal–Organic Frameworks

چکیده

The design of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) having large pore sizes and volumes often requires the use complex organic ligands, currently synthesized using costly time-consuming palladium-catalyzed coupling chemistry. Thus, in present work, a new strategy for ligand is reported, where piperazine dihydrophenazine units are used as substitutes benzene rings, which basic building block most MOF ligands. This chemistry, based on simple, nucleophilic aromatic substitution (SNAr) reactions, transition metal catalyst-free construction 21 new, carboxylate-based ligands with varying sizes, shapes, denticity 15 linear di- tetra-nitriles. Moreover, to demonstrate utility blocks, 16 structurally diverse MOFs surface areas up 3100 m2 g−1 were also synthesized.

As a novel performance, methanol gas conversion to dimethoxymethane (DMM) in one-step based on Fe-Mo-O (iron molybdate mixed oxides) catalysts with high surface area fabricated by metal organic frameworks (MOFs) precursors was improved. For this approach, at first, Fe(III) precursors (iron (III) 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate (MIL-100 (Fe) and iron terephthalate (MOF-...

Modular chemistry: secondary building units as a basis for the design of highly porous and robust metal-organic carboxylate frameworks.

Secondary building units (SBUs) are molecular complexes and cluster entities in which ligand coordination modes and metal coordination environments can be utilized in the transformation of these fragments into extended porous networks using polytopic linkers (1,4-benzenedicarboxylate, 1,3,5,7-adamantanetetracarboxylate, etc.). Consideration of the geometric and chemical attributes of the SBUs a...

Electrically Conductive Porous Metal-Organic Frameworks.

Owing to their outstanding structural, chemical, and functional diversity, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted considerable attention over the last two decades in a variety of energy-related applications. Notably missing among these, until recently, were applications that required good charge transport coexisting with porosity and high surface area. Although most MOFs are electrical ...

investigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures

deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...

Metal–organic frameworks: a new class of porous materials

A review of the synthesis, structure, and properties of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) is presented, highlighting the important advances in their research over the past decade. This new class of porous materials is attracting attention due to demonstrations of their large pore sizes, high apparent surface areas, selective uptake of small molecules, and optical or magnetic responses to the incl...
